Oliver BC Bed and Breakfast
1 Of A Kind Sculpture B&B
Pleople Who Stay at Olivers’ 1 Of A Kind Bed & Breakfast
enjoy their visit to the Beautiful South Okanagan Valley.
We stayed at 1 of a kind B&B in Oliver last fall and had a great little vacation get away.
Each day we enjoyed different activities from the steam train in Summerland to the desert center in Osoyoos
and everything in between. It was great to have a nice cozy place to come back to each evening.
We found 1 of a kind very clean, quiet, and homey. All of your basic comforts are well covered at 1 of a kind B&B.
For us the price was right on, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend others to stay at this B&B.

We thoroughly enjoyed B&B at Leta's comfortable home.
The breakfasts were delicious and she was ever the mindful and polite host.
There is plenty of room and privacy in this cosy and clean space, and we would love to stay here again.

We spent 3 nights at 1 Of A Kind B&B in Oliver.
The suite was much larger than we had expected in a B&B as well as being very modern, clean and well kept.
Leta was very friendly, welcoming and a very good cook. Breakfasts were excellent and varied.
The neighbourhood was quiet and well suited to long walks; but also close to the downtown area,
restaurants as well as a multitude of wineries.
We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this B&B to anyone wishing to visit Oliver B.C.

We are experienced travellers and often use a B&B when on a trip. We recently spent 6 nights in Oliver and
had chosen the One of a Kind B&B for that stay. There is a unique combination of space, comfort
[good fans and A/C during a hot week], cleanliness and extras available at this location.
The owner, Leta Shores, provided super recommendations for dining out, for wineries to visit and for
side roads to use to avoid the summer road construction. She also showed flexibility in both serving time and
options for our breakfasts when we expressed a need for different start times on different days.
Her variety of breakfast dishes was wonderful, and the fresh local fruit was appreciated.
As a bonus, Leta is a sculptress and she provided entertaining stories of her experiences in that field,
especially the tale of the John Oliver sculpture which stands on a downtown corner in the town.
As a result of the above, we found One of a Kind B&B the ideal place to use for our stay in this lovely valley.

“WE WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS B & B!”
It is spotlessly clean, very quiet and peaceful and with a great host who filled us in about everything
worth looking at in the area. Things we wouldn't have been able to find without Leta.
Every morning she surprised us with her wonderful breakfast creations (you have to try the omelette!).
We can highly recommend it!

We had the delightful experience of staying in Leta's home for 3 nights. It was most comfortable, quiet,
clean and convenient to all activities in the valley. Leta was a very accommodating hostess and provides you
with all the comforts of home. She knows the area well and provides much insight as to what to see and do.
We enjoyed our conversations with her. Her assistant, Phoenix, is a delight.
We will recommend her to our friends as well as look forward to another visit in the future.

I recently spend time at the One of a Kind Sculpture B&B and got more
than my money's worth. Not only was it immaculately clean and comfortable with a wonderful breakfast,
but I got suggestions of a wine route I would never have thought to take and had a delightful time
finding 5 interesting wineries in the area. I need to go back and find another five sometime!
You cannot beat this for location, space, comfort and value and if you have any interest in art or sculpture ,
the hostess is an experienced figure sculpture artist who can share experiences and answer questions.
I have no hesitation in recommending this place and will go back again if my travels take me to the Oliver area.

In Front Of B&B
Travelling with my wife and child we booked into 1 of a kind. Leta gave us a choice of two rooms, one large one
which doubles as her studio and another which is more of a standard bedroom. She said she only
has one set of guests at a time though. We chose the larger one because there was more space for our son.
What else can I say? - immaculately clean B&B, Leta was a great host, gave us loads of good advice and
recommendations for wine tasting and driving routes and she made us a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning.

In April, 2012 my wife & I were in Oliver for 3 days & nights, and decided to stay at a B&B.
We chose this one for its proximity to our activities with other family visiting the area, and for
Leta’s warm reception to our initial inquiry by phone. We were not disappointed!
Leta’s knowledge of the area and available attractions is extensive, and she provided a
very comfortable suite for us. The healthy and hearty breakfasts were awesome, and we enjoyed the
quiet late evenings in the sitting room after our long and busy days.
The private entrance and quiet neighborhood were a bonus to our stay, and we received excellent
value for the rates charged. We would gladly stay here again.

Two nights in Oliver with Leta were very comfortable
and informative. She gave us great information
on the local wineries and her ratings were very
accurate. Breakfast was a delight and our English
cousins loved the pancakes and her sculpture.
We wished we could have stayed longer,
maybe next time.

“IT ONLY GETS BETTER”
Upon entering our accommodation I was happy to see it was still bright, clean, cheerful and welcoming.
It felt like coming home, only better - I don’t have to do anything here but sit back and relax!
This was the third stay for my husband and myself, and each visit gets better.
The food continues to be both delicious and plentiful.
Leta is a delightful hostess. She is knowledgeable about everything that goes on around Oliver
and seems to be able to answer our every question. I cannot imagine anywhere else you could find
such lovely accommodation at such a reasonable rate. The value for your money can’t be beat.
Way to go Leta. Keep up the excellent work and we will see you the next time we are coming through Oliver.
The Excellent ratings I give are not exaggerated. This is a delightful, immaculate B&B and the price is
extremely reasonable. Although you may choose the bedroom or the studio for sleeping,
you have the entire area to yourselves! You can’t go wrong, whichever you choose.
Leta only rents to one set of people at a time (up to four I think).

“WONDERFUL B AND B EXPERIENCE”
Leta's B and B is in an ideal location. It is close to Oliver's activity, yet in a quiet neighbourhood for a good sleep.
My husband and I stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Leta is very helpful, and
gave us excellent suggestions and directions to a variety of wineries, as well as to fabulous pathways for biking.
Leta gave us a choice of rooms, and told us that she likes to have just one couple stay with her at a time.
This was great for us, as we didn't have to share. We chose the suite that included a fridge, coffee maker and table.
It was immaculately clean and spacious. We loved the breakfasts and our long conversations with Leta each morning.
The breakfasts were nutritious and tasty. We're looking forward to returning to 1 Of A Kind soon.

“PLEASANT STAY, INFORMATIVE HOST”
My family and I enjoyed our stay at Leta's Bed and Breakfast. Leta was such a kind and informative host.
She also goes out of her way to make sure the temperature is perfect in our rooms and that we had enough choices
for breakfast. Breakfast was "one of a kind", delicious and abundant so much that sometimes we
skipped lunch or dinner. Leta also gave us detailed plans for sightseeing and wine tours and is
very knowledgable about the wineries in her area and the latest must-try wines.
We were all a bit sad to leave Leta's B&B and we hope to stay with her again soon.

“VERY GOOD B & B EXPERIENCE”
"My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at this B & B, this was the first time we had stayed at a B & B in Canada.
The breakfast was more than ample and very very tasty. Leta made us very welcome and gave us various suggestions
for things to see, as we had not been to the area before. We would certainly recommend Leta's B & B to our friends.

“EXCELLENT B&B”
I stayed one night at this B&B and enjoyed it very much. Leta was a great host and made me feel very welcomed.
She went out of her way to ensure that I was comfortable and had everything I needed. She is in a quiet
neighbourhood but close to everything the area has to offer. She made me a wonderful breakfast.
I would have enjoyed staying longer. I highly recommend this place.

“A GREAT AND PLEASANT STAY”
We stayed there only one night,
but it was very pleasant.
Rooms are very clean and nice,
the hostess was very helpful and friendly.
She gave us information about all the
places around, what to see and where to go.
The breakfast was great too.
We'd recommend this place to anyone.

“A FRIENDLY HOMESTYLE EXPERIENCE”
My partner and I stayed only one night at this B&B, but would have loved to stay more.
Though Leta's home was certainly not "high class", it was extraordinarily clean, quiet, and we loved that it was a
private suite with its own entrance, allowing us to come and go as we pleased. The privacy was nice, much like you'd
experience in a hotel. Leta was full of great information about local wineries, restaurants and tourist destinations.
The hot breakfast was very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed the fruit grown on local orchards. There was no
satellite TV but we actually enjoyed watching one of the many movies she had available to guests.
I would definitely recommend 1 of a Kind for a quaint B&B experience.

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 2 nights here at the end of July.
Leta was a wonderful, warm, friendly hostess who made us feel most welcome.
Her home is immaculate and has everything you might need. There is absolutely nothing
basic about this B&B except the price. Everything is above standard! The breakfast was delicious
and you haven"t lived until you eat Leta's omelet for breakfast. I could have eaten it every day for a week.
If you are ever in the Oliver area, don"t pass up the opportunity to stay in this delightful B&B.

“EXCELLENT B&B, INCREDIBLE LOCATION, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
So much to talk about for this B&B. Private accommodations in finished basement.
Main room consists of 1 Queen bed, dining nook with table and 3 chairs, living room area with a double and 2 single
wicker chairs, lots of counter space, manycupboards, fridge, microwave, coffee maker and water kettle, dishes
glasses cutlery, tv, vhs video with a cupboard full of classic films. Room 2 is a separate bedroom with queen bed.
Full bathroom with whirlpool bath. The decorations of the living quarters are excellent. Our host Leta was
extremely knowledgeable about the area and will give you more information than you can actually handle in a short
stay (so stay longer - we did - 3 nights). Breakfast is served in the main upper part of the house which is beautiful.
The location is at the base of a small mountain (bluff). The B&B handles only 1 rental at a time since the whole area
is available to the rental guest(s). Leta is ultra accommodating and lovely to talk with. Also she is a highly
accomplished sculptor and will gladly describe some of her work from conception to completion.
The location of the B&B is close to all areas of the south Okanagan Valley.
The name 1 OF A KIND B&B certainly deserves its name. If I could give it a 10 rating I would.
I guess I might say that my wife and I highly recommend this B&B.
